One of the best ways to definitely make money from your Blog is to SELL LINKS and AUTOMATE your link sales.
Offer to sell links anywhere on our blog, we can place them in our blog roll, a list of links to other sites.
To do this we simply click on the Links tab in the left hand menu of your WordPress dashboard.
This displays a standard set of links that we can delete. To add new links just hit Add Link at the top of the page. Here we can add both the anchor text (the text that will be displayed on the site) and the destination URL.
Note we can also scroll to the bottom and add in notes before saving the links. Here we can add in who purchased the link, how much they paid and their contact details. We can also add in the duration the link was purchased for so we know when we canremove the link and get back in touch with the advertiser when it is about to expire to offer them an extension on the link sale.
Aside from blog roll links we can also add links into the footer of the page, our actual blog posts and anywhere else on our side bar.
To add text links you need to use the HTML code shown below:
<a href=”http://domainname.com”>anchor text</a>
All you do is before the word words they want to appear as the link, add in the code changing the domain name to the URL they have specified and then add the closing
</a> tag after the words.
Make sure only to sell in post links on sponsored posts if you have already been paid out for the opportunity.
Note: It is a good idea to have 1 or 2 links in your blog roll to start off with rather than an empty list, this will give the appearance that people have already bought the space and it is filling up.
Keep the number of links on your site to a minimum and don’t be afraid to tell people they have sold out and put them on a waiting list. It is always best sell 8 links at $100 per month than 100 links at $9 per month.
The best way to make link sales is to head over to the Digital Point Buy Sell Trade forum.
Firstly look through all the WTB posts and reply to the relevant ones via PM. Do not post your domain name in the open BST forum.
The next stage would be to create a post in this forum with the prefix WTS. Again do not give away the domain name in the open forum, ask interested parties to PM you for the details.
Automated Link Sales
It gets even better. Simply head over to the site http://textlinkads.com and sign up. Make sure your site has page rank, traffic and links before doing so.
Here you are given a plug-in to download and install on your blog. What it does is indexed the content you have on your blog and offers it huge base of users to advertise on any of these keywords.
Users buy them and you get paid out automatically on a monthly basis. The great advantage of this is that large sites use this service and links and be bought on a never ending basis so as long as the advertiser has money in their account you keep getting paid month on end.
The links are also placed automatically by the plug in.
You can change the option so not all links are auto approved and you can go in and approve them manually. You receive and email when a new link needs approving.
Each link from popular local blog sites are sold from P100 to P500. If the links point to a company website, the links can cost up to P1,000 per month. Link offers vary from a monthly to annual plan.
Banner Sales
You can also sell banner ads. Here you can take advantage of the wp125 plug-in to create a set of 125 banner spots on your blogs sidebar.
All you have to do is edit the settings of the plug in to create either a single or dual column layout with the number of spaces you want available.
Like the links in the blog roll it is a good idea to place a few banners on there, maybe for affiliate offers so your blogs looks like a great place to advertise. As well as this you can link in your advertising page so people can click the remaining spots to be taken to this page and get the contact and pricing information on your advertising offers.
A great benefit of the plug in is that it tracks the number of times each banner is clicked so you can happily feedback to your advertisers the success their banner has had on your site.
Banners can also automatically be removed after a set period of time, this is handy where people pay for short term adverts and it saves you going in to remove the ads.
Make a page for potential advertisers.
Like the ABOUT page, you can create a new page. Select Pages from the left menu followed by Add New.
Create the page aimed at potential advertisers who want to buy link or advertising space on your blog. You can include what the blog is about, and how it may help their site, service or product to have an ad placement on your blog.
You must keep going back to this page to update the blogs information, useful stats to put on there are:
- The blogs page rank.
- The blogs alexa or traffic stats (monthly visitors).
- What types of advertising is available, banner spots (with sizes) link placements. You can also include prices or give these out upon request.
Also make sure you include an email address on this page to potential advertisers know where to contact you. A domain based email e.g. advertise@domainname.com will look better than a gmail or hotmail address.
Now go ahead and carefully implement the above steps and start making money from your blog now!
